H&S Improvements

Following on from our recent air quality survey where the levels of dust, fume and noise were assessed, it was suggested that we improve our table extraction in our recycled production area.

We manufacture product from recycled newsprint paper and although this dust is not harmful, it does settle onto surfaces over time and has to be cleared away regularly.  We already have overhead extraction in place as well as extraction directly over the shredding machines, but wanted to improve the environment for our staff and people on work placements.

As such we ordered 2 air benches which are designed to take the dust away from the packing process and clean the air through filters fitted below the table surface.

This ensures that the dust is not extracted past operatives faces and will reduce the amount of dust in the air within the enclosure.

These are great extraction systems and we have already had one for our cotton production area for some years.
