Stock levels back in place

Following on from a product change over in September 25, we have found it difficult to get our stock levels back up to the levels we would normally like to work with.

When employing people with disabilities we try not to work on a ‘just in time’ method as this is a stressful way to work, but we tend to hold stocks for our customers.  This means that if a machine breaks down, a member of staff is absent or something else happens, we have about a weeks grace before things start to get concerning!!

The product change over last September with one of our large customers was a hard change, so all of the old stocks were changed overnight in stores to the new ones, meaning that we were producing 2 lots of products before the change and so leaving us with virtually no stocks when the launch took place.

With raw material shortages, labour issues etc, we found it difficult to build stocks whilst ensuring that the inflow of orders were provided on time in full.  The use of our Bank Worker system has really helped to get stock levels back up whilst we recruit to fill a vacancy and plug gaps due to long term sickness.

Here is a great view of the factory with our stock levels back in place, but of course, leading up to Christmas, this could change!
