National Pet Shop Day

The first-ever National Pet Shop Day took place on Saturday (13th July) with more than 200 stores throughout the UK having registered to participate.  See more information here – Home – National Pet Shop Day

The event was developed and launched by Johnson’s Veterinary Products as a way of celebrating the huge breadth of support, products, services and advice that high street retailers are able to provide direct to pet owners.

Johnson’s has encouraged pet shops and stores to throw open their doors and invite pet owners to come in and discover more about how they can offer viable, affordable options for dealing with commonly occurring minor ailments such as fleas, ticks, worms, or other general healthcare issues.

Norfolk Industries has got involved in this through Vital Pet Products who are an online wholesaler to pet shops and have put together a gift box of various product samples for their retail customers.

Sharon Tooke, General Manager of Norfolk Industries said ‘We were asked if we would like to participate in the marketing of the first National Pet Shop Day which has been an initiate launched by Johnson’s through our contract with Vital Pet Products.

As such, we provided free samples of our Norfolk Industries cotton bedding product to issue to Vital Pet Products retail customers in an effort to celebrate National Pet Shop Day 2024.

Vital Pet Products felt that a gift box of free samples might raise awareness of the event and provide an opportunity for Pet Shops to see alternative products which might be of interest to their own customers.

Our cotton bedding is safe, soft, natural and provides a warm bedding material for small pets such as mice, rats, gerbils and hamsters.  It should NOT be confused with Viscose bedding which is NOT suitable for hamsters.  Our cotton bedding is very short fibres so does not cause any kind of entanglement risk and does not ball up in the gut if swallowed.
