Machinery Manuals

Now that we have new machinery in the factory, it prompts me to raise a machinery manual.

These are essential folders for each and every machine in the factory and they include a number of documents to keep everyone informed about that machine –

• Risk Assessment
• Manual Handling Risk Assessment
• COSHH Data Sheets and subsequent Risk Assessments
• Safe Operating Procedures
• Pre-Start paperwork
• Maintenance Schedules
• Training schedules
• Trouble shooting information
• People who are signed off to use that piece of equipment
• A briefing card bringing all of that information together

It takes some time, and all has to be reviewed at least every year but does ensure that people have straight forward information to refer to at all times.
