Bringing Joy to January

I wanted to tell you about a wonderful event that I went to in January at the Independence Matters Dereham Community Hub which was just so positive and joyous!

Our parent company Independence Matters CIC has been providing the same Gateway Assured learning programmes that we have here at Norfolk Industries, but they are being utilised in different ways, such as Horticulture, Drama and Catering.

To celebrate all of the learning that has taken place over the last 12 months, a Gateway Awards Ceremony took place at the Dereham Community Hub on Thursday 19th January, luckily I was invited to attend.

All I can say is what a wonderful afternoon!  It was so joyous to see everyone genuinely happy for everyone else.  People with a wide range of disabilities clearly excited about their learning and receiving their certificates!  It would bring a smile to anyone’s face and should definitely be on the news!  We then had cake and non-alcoholic champagne to celebrate everyone’s achievements.
